Tuesday, August 18th

Well, this has been quite a day.  We left the motel and went to the place that Don purchased the battery yesterday, to have the alternator checked, just as we got there the bike died so they charged the battery for a couple of hours and we learned that the alternator was bad.  With the battery being charged we thought we could make it to the mechanic about 14 miles away. That didn't happen, the bike died on a very very busy street, two lanes going each way, and turn lanes.  A nice guy stopped and Help Don push the trailer into a parking lot, another nice man came to the rescue and with Don on the bike they pushed it to the parking lot with the trailer. A tow truck came and they put the bike and trailer on the bed of the truck. That was the first time we have had this experience!!  He took us to the motorcycle place where the mechanic is and the bike will be done in two or three days. We called a car rental place and waited about three hours for them to get there with a car. We have had a good dinner and are back at the motel that we stayed at last night. We are very thankful that the bike, trailer, & us are safe.  We are sure tired tonight though and are calling it a day, no night my for us. 😍
