July 3

We are in Seward today. Yesterday we went Kenai and went throough the Russian Orthordox Church as well as the museum there. The Priest gave us a tour and told us all about the church. Very interesting. From there we came on to Seward and on our way we stopped at Exit Glacier. When we got to Seward there were people everywhere. All the campgrounds were full. We finally found one that would allow us to park the car and sleep in it. I (don) was walking around to try and find the bathrooms when I saw a mama moose and her little calf walking by in front of me. There was a man standing by his boat and when she saw him her ears went back and chased him under his boat. It was kind of funny except if she had caught him out in the open she could have done serious injury. They say more people are killed by moose than by bears. Had a good nice sleep. Went to bed ant 9:30 and got up at 6:30. Found a cafe that had internet and are eating breakfast. We want to go the the seal life exhibit and then leave for Whittier and on to Anchorage and Wasilla. I will try and send a couple of pictures of the glacier.

I, Alfreda, paco wants Granddad to show him on the map where we went on this trip, now i don't know if his folks aren't keeping him up to date, or if he doesn't think they know, since they aren't with us. :) I heard a guy say that it is to rain every where in AK today :( we are making the best of it but sure can't see this beautiful state.

  1. Good rainy morning in Port Orchard. It seems that you are also having to live in wet country, as well. Bet it has been a life saver to have Susie's vehicle instead of getting wet on the bike. We'll have to think of another name for you--some other kind of "Babe". Just teasing!!

Mark is here--came late yesterday evening and will leave before I get up in the morning on the airporter bound for SeaTac. Such a short time, but we are enjoying it.

    Stay in touch. ---Doris
