Today we did some fun things with Harry Vaughn & Carol, we had lunch at the Hen House, really good fried chicken!! Then we went to a market that Carol's cousin has, that has been in the family for generations. We left their fine company about 3 & came to Chivington where we are staying with Don's brother, Gilbert. We took a drive to look at the crops, very sad that the deer & rabbits are eating so much of the crops.
We are in Pueblo at my cousins, Harry & Carol's. We got a new head set for Don's helmet that Harry & Don will assembly tomorrow. We took a drive to old Pueblo & an Italian market that Carol's daddy took her to when she was a little girl. Don talked to the lady who owns it & she is the niece of who started it in 1921. There is a nice River Walk that we saved for the next trip. We came home to a wonderful dinner of stuffed pork chops, fresh green beans, ham & potatoes, tomato salad, fresh Italian bread & corn on the cob & Dilly Bars. Their daughter & family came for dinner so we have had a really fun day. God IS good.
We tried to go to the top of Mt. Evans today where Fred took people when he was doing the tours Colorado Sight Seers but the road was closed. We still had a wonderful day and enjoyed the beautiful CO mts. We went to Idaho Springs, CO. & ate some really good pizza at Bijou Pizza. A year ago today Mahlon, Lujans, us, helped Stan & Ellen celebrate her birthday on a whitewater rafting trip. Happy birthday, Ellen.
We arrived at our dear friends, Fred & Marge's home about 5:30. Fred & Don have been friends since CSU days at Ft Collins. Wonderful friends they are for so many years, God is good!!
There is excitement in the air as we share our plans for our sabbatical. We sure enjoy visiting with long-time friends and sharing what we are planning for this gift from our church family!
I think my granddaughters are pretty excited to housesit, too. HA!
We are super excited for this trip and so grateful for everyone who has helped make this happen.
We are two, in-love, down-to-earth, people who fell in love over 55 years ago! We have covered many miles from the back of our Honda Golding; including our dream trip to Alaska! Our next big adventure will be East! Here is our journey. Don's the preacher and Alfreda is his biker babe!

I highlighted several Quaker women last year and for
#InternationalWomensDay I decided to put them all in one spot to make it
